The design and manufacture of breast implants has to undergo strict checks but ruptures have happed and the chance of the contents entering the circulatory system should be considered. Of course this is not a problem if a saline implant were to deflate as the body would be able to absorb the harmless fluid easily.

Cosmetic breast surgery is considered very safe and is an extremely routine procedure largely free from problems even though any type of operation does have some risk associated with it.
